Why waiters take the fall when there is a problem with the food

If there is a job I do not envy is being a waiter or a waitress in a hotel or even a restaurant. This is because such jobs are very demanding and the kind of work environment someone will be in from day to day is really not predictable. I have lived in nuneaton since I can remember and the hotels are usually the major pass times, and in such places, there are different kinds of people who like snapping off the heads of waiters or waitresses, and I would not even want to choose restaurant nuneaton jobs even if I had to. If the food has not been cooked according to the likeness of the customer, then it is the waiter who is going to have it and not even the chef who is responsible for the cooking. If there is a delay in the food that has been ordered, and the delay is in the kitchen, then it is also the waiter and waitresses who are going to take the fall because they are the ones who are in the most contact with the customers and not the kitchen crew.
