Finding out what the click through rate of your pay per click advertisement is, is very important. This will tell you how many people are interested in your advertisement and therefore visiting your website. It is a statistic that the company that you are advertising will provide you with.
It is a useful figure to use as a comparison. This is because you can change certain aspects of your advertisement and then see whether the click through rate changes. It is amazing what a big difference it can make, if you just change one word or move around the text. This can make your advert stand out more or just sound more appealing.
It can be difficult knowing what to change to make a difference and experimenting can be expensive. However, if you use a PPC Management company who is experienced in dealing with companies like yours, then they should have some knowledge with regards to what will and will not work.
Click through rate is especially important if you are using Google to advertise. They will charge you less money if your advertisement is more appealing and get more clicks and so getting this right, could save you a lot of money.
It is worth bearing in mind that you should not become totally obsessed by click through rate. You need to consider that the traffic reaching your website needs to be buying for it, in order for you to make some profit from them. Therefore conversion rate is very important as well. You need to keep an eye on both figures and hopefully with a good conversion rate, you will find as your traffic increases then your sales will as well. What you want to avoid is your conversion rate going down when you attract more traffic as this shows that your visitors are not interested in buying your products and you are therefore attracting the wrong people
